Day in the life of a sailor...

So its the second day of our voyage (not trip) on our ship (not boat).  Things so far are going really well, it feels like I have been on here for a week rather than just less than 2 days.  The past two days have been filled with boring orientation information but constantly meeting new people which makes it interesting.  Its very weird not having instant knowledge of where someone is via text message or phone call, but luckily the ship is pretty small so its not all that hard to find someone if really needed.  The weather is still amazing (sure beats the frigid weather back home) and in our spare minutes of time we are able to catch some sun on the pool deck. The whole thing is still very surreal. Today we got to watch the inauguration for about an hour which was pretty cool (they broadcasted it live on the ship and we all gathered in the union to watch).  They are also giving us a celebration party on the ship tonight for it consisting of a pub night with champagne as well as cake.  Seasickness hasn't really been a problem yet (knock on wood), except for last night when the girl in front of me threw up in the middle of our meeting, it almost caused a chain reaction (I then decided to go back to my room and put on the patch just to be certain I wouldn't be "that guy" who did that).  The boat is definitely moving around a lot so it is quite amusing to watch everyone try to walk through the halls.  Tomorrow is our first day of classes which everyone seems pretty excited about...it will definitely be a unique experiencing being in a living/learning community with your professors.  Even the fact that we saw the Dean working out on the pool deck is something that will take some getting used to.  Other than that, that's all from the middle of the Atlantic Ocean as we turn forward the clocks an our tonight (the 1st out of 5 times before Spain).
