On our 4th day in Cape Town my roommate Phil and I went to Table Mountain. We decided to take the cable car up and possibly hike down. When we got to the top we hiked around for a bit and decided we were going to take the cable car down since it was really cold and foggy at the top. As we were going to the cable car we saw some other SAS kids and we were talking to them. They were going ab-sailing which is there way of saying rappelling. I do not enjoy heights so I was not a big fan of doing that but after some convincing I decided to do it. It was really scary when first starting and essentially "falling" off the cliff. After going down for a while I really started to enjoy it and then all of a sudden the wall next to us was no longer there about half way down and they called it the "surprise." It was very weird hanging in mid air on the side of a mountain but very cool at the same point and offered great views of Cape Town. We got to the bottom and waited for everyone and then hiked back up which took about 30 minutes. Once we were at the top we took the cable car back down. We went back to Cape Town and went to the mall and internet café for the rest of the day.
That night we were going to go to Mama Africa for dinner which serves South African game but we decided to go back to Camps Bay instead. We met Jackie, Alex and Rebecca at a really nice restaurant they were at and had an awesome steak and wine for less than $20. After that we headed to another bar and then to Long Street.
The last day we just went to the mall and ate as well as shopped around for a bit as we had seen most of Cape Town and were pretty tired. Overall Cape Town was an amazing place and definitely my favorite place thus far.
